Shopping for food

Comments from students...
The next few comments demonstrate the old adage “united we stand” and will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Students aren’t really money-grabbing, lazy, selfish oafs you know. This is a good way to save money:
“I live with some really good friends and have done for 2 years, so we do group shops. We go shopping and spend £95 between three of us but that’s our shopping for a month. We fill the freezer, fridge etc. and all just pitch in.”
This next idea will not only save money but will keep you regular too!
“They do that at my boyfriend’s house and they spend £30 a week between four of them. One of them is vegetarian, so they don’t spend the money on meat and all eat vegetarian stuff now. Last night I spent £40 at ‘Asda’ but, in my house, there’s absolutely no way I could share my food with other people, because they eat stuff like smiley faces and crispy pancakes.”
This next one’s a good idea and you can do this if you live on your own too. I would just add that you should write the dates on everything when you freeze it.
“We do a ‘cook a batch’ thing and freeze the rest of it. We do that five nights a week and we’ve got something like 41 meals in our freezer now.”
