Loans, grants and bursaries

Ok, so to try and explain all the different funding options available to all students can be a bit mind boggling so we shall leave it to the experts to explain the details. To try and avoid confusing you, these are the options you need have a look at.
1) Student Loan
Basically if you are not being funded to do you course from the NHS or similar, you are probably entitled to apply for a student loan.
Generally, you can apply for a non means tested maintenance loan of £3497 per academic year and a tuition fee loan of £3225 per academic year (figures correct as of May 28, 2009).

You have to pay back the student loan out of your salary once you earn over £15K a year, starting from the April after you graduate.
2) NHS Bursary
Some of you may be studying on an NHS funded course such as Nursing. NHS funded courses often have bursaries which students do not have to pay back if they complete the course. Have a look at the list of courses which are NHS funded and information on NHS bursaries.
3) UCLan bursaries
UCLan have several bursaries which students can apply for; the Excellence in Sports Bursary, the UCLan Bursary 2009 and the Harris Bursary.
