Living here
A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!
"The best advice I can give is make good friends with people on your course. This comes in handy for living together in second and third year, which helps when it comes to deadlines and exam time. Living with course mates means having people to stay in with, go to the library with and company in the mornings before lectures, having the girls banging on my door at 8am to make breakfast with is a great incentive to get out of bed." - Ciara Palomino, Public Relations, 3rd year, age 21.
Find out what it is like to be a UCLan student whether you are a home student, international student, just left home or a mature student. This section will give you an insight into other student’s experiences at UCLan.
You will also find advice on what the university expects from you behaviour wise. Yes, university is fun but it is not “Lord of the Flies”!
When you come to UCLan you will find an abundance of support services, which can be a little over whelming in the first week as they all come and talk to you and give you leaflets and freebies. It can be difficult to take all the information in at once. So it’s worth taking some time to get your head round the support before you get here.
