Hints and tips to keep you safe
A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!
- If you have to go out at night alone, get a personal alarm and carry it in your hands. It will make you feel safer and more confident.
- Make sure the routes you take are well lit and well populated if possible. Muggers tend not to appreciate too much of an audience
- It’s good just to let someone know that you are walking and that you should be home in however many minutes…
- …And let them know when you get in
- If you run out of cash, or get separated from your friends in town, don’t wander off on your own. Call the student union’s Call a Car service. You give your student card over and then pay your fare at the student union building the next day and get your card back
- You can also call UCLan’s security team if you ever feel vulnerable on campus. Call 01772 892068 and they will track your journey home on the CCTV cameras whihc cover the campus
- Security are here 24 / 7 so if you ever have any concerns for your safety on campus call them!
