Module evaluation
A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!

So your lectures keep getting cancelled and you’re never told why?
Or you found out from your mate that a deadline has been moved instead of from your lecturer?
It could be that you absolutely love your modules and want to rave about them!
Whatever the reason, that’s what module evaluations are for.
At the end of your module your lecturers will hand out a form which you can write all of what you like and dislike about every aspect of the module. Obviously your lecturers would love to hear that everything smells like roses but obviously they can’t get it perfect every time.
Answering these truthfully can be very helpful to the head of the module in order to improve the module for future students. Now you may think completing one is pointless as you’re not going to be repeating the module yourself. What benefits does it have for you? Well truthfully not much and you’d be right in thinking it doesn’t affect you directly but what harm does it do you?
Two simple things you should keep in mind about module evaluations:
1) They take no more than 5 minutes for you to complete.
2) If no one ever completed them, the module you’d just done wouldn’t have changed for the better at all.
So take into consideration all of the new students joining and help make their university experience just as enjoyable as yours.
Note from the TAG Team: If you are having issues with a module, you do not have to wait until the end to let someone know. You can talk to your course rep or your Student Liaison Officer or the Students' Union all of whom will be able to help and advise you!
