Don't know where your class is?
A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!
When you start at UCLan you will be given a handy little tool called a diary! It’s worth using it to help you organise your time and to keep track of your assessment deadlines, classes, personal tutor meetings, room changes, etc. Most mobile phones have a calendar tool built into them these days but if you are not a diary or calendar user, may I make one suggestion? Store your module codes in your phone or keep them in your wallet. If you ever get to university and can’t remember where you’re supposed to be those module codes will help you find your class!
How? Through the module catalogue!
The module catalogue will tell you the weeks the class is running on, the time of the class along with the room it’s in and it’s easily acessible on the UCLan website.
You can search by subject, module title, module description or module code. It’s definitely easier if you search by module code as there are often several modules with similar titles and descriptions.
The only thing the module catalogue will not tell you is which group you are in or if there has been a last minute room change!
You can access the module catalogue from the “i-Stop” machines you will see dotted around the university campus or you can politely ask at a reception area if they will look it up for you. If you have a phone which has internet access, you can even look it up on there. Make sure you register your device to use the UCLan wireless network!
