Being surrounded by some of the UK’s biggest cities Preston may seem unattractive, however it offers a number of attractions for those study free days with nothing to do.
Listed below are just a number of them but the opportunity is there to discover more fun filled days out for you and your mates and maybe even your family.
Currently the home to The National Football Museum, where some of the world’s most important footballing collections are kept, it is definitely worth a look and best of all FREE to enter. The museum is a short walk from the city at Preston North End Football Club but also on a bus route so easily accessible from the UCLan campus.
If relaxing in an outdoor environment is your kind of thing, Preston is home to six large parks in and around the city and are well worth a visit. A number of them host outdoor events throughout the year, ranging from music events to Easter egg rolling.
Trax Motor Sports are based just outside the city centre and offer a range of motorsports, such as quad biking, karting and paintballing. It offers something for everyone, adults and children, so whether you’re looking for a day out when the family visits or something to do with your flat mates, Trax is an exhilarating day out.
20 miles or so from Preston and easily accessible on the train is Blackpool the biggest and most popular seaside resort, in the UK offering everything from a beach to a theme park. Blackpool has something for everyone and won’t disappoint, the weather may not always be exciting but you’re guaranteed your day will be.
