A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!

The ‘ceth Gallery’ is a new UCLan project displaying, promoting and selling student and graduate artwork.  The exhibition brings together an eclectic and varied assortment of art forms, including painting, illustration, photography, ceramics, jewellery, accessories and books. The work displays styles from a range of genres, taking inspiration from a diverse source of influences, and the gallery promotes artists from a mixture of age-groups and backgrounds.  A selection of this artwork is currently available to view by the main university reception in Foster Building, whilst a full catalogue of products can be seen on the gallery’s newly launched website: www.cethgallery.co.uk

The project also aims to interact with students and enhance their employability by encouraging them to use initiative and promote their own work.  The gallery gives its contributors a solid basis in the skills required to run a business, such as funding and distributing their work, dispatching to deadlines and handling cash income.

Richard Liptrot has used the CETH gallery to promote his illustrations:
"I joined CETH as I think it's a great way to promote my business and display my illustrations. Through CETH I have sold work and also received commissions. I also like the way it celebrates work from UCLan students, to inspire prospective and current students to achieve great things".

Please email MCharlesworth@uclan.ac.uk for more information or if you are interested in selling your work through the gallery.  For a full range of products, see www.cethgallery.co.uk.
