Things to bring on day one
A realistic Guide to life at UCLan - written by students!
OK so the first week is going to be a bit of a whirlwind for you! You will meet your course mates and staff, see lots of presentations, probably fill in paper work and be bombarded with information. So if after day one you are thinking – what!!? Don’t panic, you are not expected to remember everything but you are expected to take notes so you can get your head round things later!
You will be given a student organiser to help you plan your time here which will have lots of useful dates marked as well as useful information.
You won’t need a lot on your first day but you will be given a lot of stuff so here are a few things you should bring with you.
1) Your induction timetable – this should be available online
2) A bag – big enough to fit folders and lots of paperwork! Its time to buy a manbag boys!
3) A pen – you are unlikely to be able to remember everything you are told so write it down!
4) Notepad
5) ID – If you have paper work to sort out you may need to prove your ID to bring it just in case besides if you decide to go to the pub if you are lucky you may be asked for ID the rule is think 25 now!
6) Your corporate card if you have it – the details on that card allow you to enrol and log into the university IT system
