So here you are at the UCLan campus in Burnley – but where is everything!? Where are the local supermarkets, how can you get around the city, what its there to do, etc?
What about your course? How do staff communicate with you? What are extenuating circumstances and how do you apply?
Think it’s a bit early to be planning your career? Yes, it’s very early days but first year is when you have the most time to start doing something about your employability. We are not saying you need to pick your career now! But now is the time to start developing those basic, transferable skills - communication, team work, time management, etc - that are required for most jobs. These types of skills can be built through joining clubs and societies and getting involved in other activities - say producing content for TAG ;o)! The problem most people have is they don’t realise they have developed these skills! So in this section you will find ideas for how to get involved and services to help you identify all your new skills!
