How to apply for extenuating circumstances

There are now two ways you can apply for extenuating circumstances. You can apply be completing the paper documents or applying online.
Guidelines to extenuating circumstances to help you complete your submission.
To apply in writing visit your school office to collect the extenuating circumstances envelope. You will find submission details and deadlines for submission on the envelope. If you need help completing the extenuating circumstances forms visit your school office, ask at the ‘i’ or talk to your Student Liaison Officer (SLO). It is important that you also inform your personal tutor or a member of your course team of your circumstances so that they are aware. Please note, it is always best to have some kind of evidence to support your extenuating circumstances request.
The online system is a recent addition to the extenuating circumstances admission process. This system allows you to apply for extenuating circumstances online via MyUCLan.
To do so, simply log on to MyUCLan, select ‘students services’ then ‘extenuating circumstances’ and follow the instructions. This will allow you to log on to MyUCLan after submission and track the progress of your extenuating circumstances.
Remember if something serious or exceptional does happen to you during your time at university, even if you think you will be fine, submit extenuating circumstances. If you don’t and later down the line you discover that the incident or issue has affected you more than you realised, it may be too late to appeal against your results.
